The master’s programme provides high-level training for young researchers and specialists in the four fields of English studies (arts and literature, civilization and history, translation and translation studies, linguistics). The program trains its students in both theoretical and applied research, preparing them for different career paths (such as research, teaching, translation, administration or arts and culture careers).

Organisation générale des études

The Master's programme is a multidisciplinary programme taught in English based on a core curriculum of cross-disciplinary courses aimed at giving students key transferable skills (topics include critical theory, research epistemology, translation, public speaking, academic writing, research methodologies...).

In addition to this core curriculum, students will choose from a large range of seminars (literature, history and civilization, arts and visual cultures of the Anglophone world, translation studies, linguistics) which will be chosen in relation to the student's individual project.

Four disciplinary fields are offered, in  M1 and M2:

1. Civilizations of the Anglophone world;

2. Anglophone literatures;

3. Linguistics and/or didactic studies;

4. Translation and translation studies

Students will choose one of these four options, depending on their research project. The topic of the student’s individual project will be defined during the first semester with the help of his or her supervisor. Methodological and writing workshops will take place during the course of the program to help them define and complete their research project.
