Registration Procedure to Apply as a Fresher - Individual Foreign Students


French Level


In this university, a B2 to C1 level is expected in order to follow the courses, depending on the degree.

You have to justify your French level by providing a language test certification:

Registration Procedure


The Registration Procedure depend on your situation:

You live abroad in a country which takes part in the Etudes en France (EeF) procedure
 

You live in a country which takes part in the 'Etudes en France'...

1) …  And you have the citizenship of the country in which you live in
Example : you live in Morocco and you have the Moroccan citizenship

  • If you are preparing a French or European 'baccalauréat', you will need to apply on the Parcoursup platform and to follow the 'Etudes en France' procedure at the same time.
     
  • If you are preparing another degree (giving access to French higher education), you will have to ask for a 'Demande d’Admission Préalable (DAP)' and follow the Etudes en France procedure. The DAP can be made online on the "Études en France" platform.

​​​​​​2) … And you have the citizenship of a country that is a member of the European Union, or you are a citizen of Norway,Iceland,Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Andorra or Monaco.
Example: You live in Senegal and have the German citizenship

You live in Europe but you are not European

[Apply between early October and mid December of the year preceding the one in which you would like to start you studies in France]

1) ... You live in Europe (Outside of France) : Dossier Blanc

You will have to submit a  Demande d'Admission Préalable (DAP) Dossier Blanc.

The applications must be sent to the cooperation and cultural action service of the French ambassade of your country of residence.

2) ...You live in France: Dossier Vert

International students who live in France, who do not possess the French citizenship, who do not (or will not) have the French baccalauréat, as well as a European equivalent, must submit a Demande d'Admission Préalable (DAP) Dossier vert.

The applications must be submitted to you department's office.

You are not European or from a country wich takes part in the Etudes en France (EeF) procedure

1) ... You live in a country which does not take part in the Etudes en France (EeF) procedure : Dossier Blanc

You must submit a Demande d'Admission Préalable (DAP) Dossier Blanc.

2) ...You live in France: Dossier Vert

Situation of students from Ukraine wishing to register for the new academic year

Students from Ukraine benefiting from temporary protection are not concerned by the DAP (green file). They must apply directly to the university.

Students wishing to enter the first year of a bachelor's degree who do not have a diploma recognized by parcoursup are invited to write to scolarite@sorbonne-nouvelle.fr, providing a cover letter (specifying the desired degree), a CV and a copy of diplomas already obtained, in particular the equivalent of the baccalauréat.

Translation of your titles, degrees and documents

It is mandatory that you translate in French all the documents retranscripted in another language:

The offer of admission does not attest as an inscription,  but it is essential for your registration.
 
If you receive a proposition of admission for your application, you will then have to proceed to your administrative registration with your department's office.
