Leader of the project MultilingYUFE (Multidimensional Approaches to Language Diversity Across European Contexts). Project conducted in collaboration with 8 YUFE partner universities: Antwerp, Bremen, Madrid, Essex, Cyprus, Eastern Finland, Rijeka, and Toruń.

Member of the International Society for the Linguistics of English (ISLE), the Societas Linguistica Europaea (SLE), the Association des Linguistes Anglicistes de l’Enseignement Supérieur (ALAES), the Société des Anglicistes de l’Enseignement Supérieur (SAES), the Philological Society (PhilSoc), and the European Society for the Study of English (ESSE).

Member of the editorial board of the journal Cognitextes, published by the French Association for Cognitive Linguistics (AFliCo).

Thèmes de recherche

Mes intérêts de recherche incluent la variation et le changement linguistique, la modalité, les variétés postcoloniales de l'anglais, le contact des langues et la grammaire de construction. Mon ouvrage Modality in Contact: Necessity and Obligation in New Englishes (Mouton de Gruyter, 2024) explore la restructuration des constructions modales dans l'anglais de Singapour à la suite du contact avec d'autres langues, telles que le chinois mandarin. Je propose un modèle « pan-stratiste », qui considère un éventail de forces et de mécanismes cognitifs influençant la dynamique complexe des situations de contact. J'ai également travaillé sur la grammaticalisation et le changement constructionnel et je coécris un chapitre sur ce sujet pour la prochaine Cambridge Encyclopaedia of Cognitive Linguistics (CUP, 2025).

My research interests include language variation and change, modality, postcolonial varieties of English, language contact, and Construction Grammar. My 2024 Modality in Contact: Necessity and Obligation in New Englishes (Mouton de Gruyter) explores the restructuring of modal constructions in Singapore English as a result of contact with other languages, such as Mandarin Chinese. I propose a “pan-stratist” model, which considers a spectrum of forces and cognitive mechanisms influencing the complex dynamics of contact situations. I have also been working on grammaticalization and constructional change and am co-authoring a chapter on this topic for the upcoming Cambridge Encyclopaedia of Cognitive Linguistics (CUP, 2025).
