Objectifs

This webinar will introduce students to the field of “Science and Literature” studies, with a focus on literature’s relation to the life sciences. The first session will provide an overview of relevant critical theory and methodological approaches, drawing from ecocriticism, medical humanities and environmental humanities. The second session will examine literary engagements with the life sciences from the 19th to the 21st century. Students are then expected to attend two sessions in the BioCriticism research webinar series (https://biocriticism.hypotheses.org/about).
